The current Bartholomew County courthouse was built between 1870 and 1874.  It was designed by architect Isaac Hodgson, who was born in Belfast, Ireland in 1826 and immigrated to the United States in 1848.  Isaac Hodgson ultimately designed six Indiana courthouses.
